China will not be a great, inventive and prosperous country like the USA until its citizens have access to any information they need, can do what they want, go where they please, say what they think, and have a say in their national policy. Right now China is primarily trading cheap labor for public infrastructure. China isn't meeting the basic needs of its people. It's essentially still a centrally-planned society that's discovering capitalism. They have a long way to go to become the "economic engine of the world".
