there are no facts in any religion only opinions! I cannot believe I am responding to this statement, but here it goes: No. There are facts about religion. Like Mohammad is the Prophet in Islam. That is a fact, isn't it Mr Kohn? The holy book of Islam is the Quran. Or is that not a fact, according to you? And, last but not least, the fact that Islam forbids representations of God and Mohammad is a fact. It is not an opinion. It is not something you or Darren or another band of SI people can change. It is a FACT. One which Darren was unaware of but now he knows better (I hope). I also disagree that Islam prohibits visual representations, because if you tell a story to a child of let us say Mohammad's ascent to heaven, and you spin the tale of the travel to the Eastern Mosque, in the mind of the listener that story transform to a set of images, that is how our minds work. Oh please! I am saying that Islam forbids PICTURES of God and Prophet so that icons will not be revered. What does that have to do with a child imagining some story in his head???????? I also disagree that Islam prohibits visual representations Look it up, for crying out loud. You have internet connection. Google is your friend. I am fed up explaining FACTS to those who have no clue about them. . Again, you claim that you don't hold to double standards, but you are holding the US to a standard to which Europe has chosen not to hold If Europe does the same, then they are also to be criticised. I am not holding Europe above criticism as you are holding the US. What torture methods are used in Guantanamo? Have you not read the news? guardian.co.uk smh.com.au wsws.org wsws.org heraldsun.news.com.au Where does it say that terrorists or those alleged to be terrorists are entitled to lawyers? Oh I see. Then you think whoever is in Guantanamo, no matter if maybe some of them have nothing to do with no terrorist organization (like the two that were recently released from Guantanamo), should rot forever in some jail? How humane. The prisoners are either Prisoners of War, or common criminals. In the first case, they need to be accorded POW status and treated according to the relevant parts of the Geneva Convention. If it is the latter, they need immediate access to their lawyers and they need to be charged and brought to court. That's what the whole western system is about, Mr Kohn. What are you afraid of? Why should these people never see the inside of a courtroom?
