Ted, <You can say what you want but maybe you need to look a little closer.>

That's not my point, but hey, if you want to go there ...

Personally, I think the deep nationalistic pride in South Korea is fostering into a kind of arrogance. There's nothing wrong with wanting more autonomy from the U.S. and asking for less military presence. In fact, America would love to save $3B a year by pulling out of South Korea.

But the anti-Americanism is reaching some absurd heights. Here are some examples: The American embassy interferes with the feng shui (or whatever) of the city district it's in. America actually profits from having a military presence in South Korea. America wants to colonialize South Korea. And on and on.

Meanwhile, North Korea continues to act like stupid jerks, and South Koreans are in denial because of their nationalistic arrogance. Plain and simple. Reunification is a noble goal, but maybe those anti-American protesters ought to ask more from North Korea and less from America.

And that's my humble opinion.

P.S. - I stand by my statement about liberals in America. Clinton thought he gave Bush a diplomatic victory in the Korean peninsula, when the truth was that North Korea was pursuing nukes well before Bush got inaugurated. And now liberals think North Korea is a big danger because Bush named them part of an "Axis of Evil"? That's preposterous.
