This is meaningless, the first day ... last year was the same, was it not ... in the US the taxman uses trade date and not settlement date, so for US nationals this is the first day of 2003, while for us it was last friday ... no doubt that's a factor, also there can often be irrational ebullience following a holiday ... total enduring significance equals zero .... there could come some ramp in the non-golds, but it would be limited i think, and not break the trend ... too early yet

One thing that happens in the juniors, is people put in GTC orders to month-end, then the next day can be wild as many haven't renewed them yet ... depth can get really thin, one way or the other, or both

Is it possibly the 1/2c causing BHK problem. TSE ok with 1/2cents but not TSX Venture exchange, even though BHK is fully listed.
