Knighty Tin,

I hadn't heard that one. That propaganda ploy was repeated soon after the WTC collapses with CNN showing a handful of Palestinians celebrating, inferring that all Palestinians were joyous at the U.S.'s tragedy. Of course, most Palestinians were exactly like most of the rest of humanity, appalled at the senseless tragedy. But the propagandists were already starting to create "the face of the enemy".

Bill Maher, formerly host of ABC's "Politically Incorrect" has just published a book based on the propaganda posters of WW II. He's given it a twist. The name of the book is "When You Ride Alone You Ride with Bin Laden: What the Government Should Be Telling Us to Help Fight the War on Terrorism"

Maher points out, quite correctly, that in any world conflict, both sides are guilty of over-simplifying the enemy and painting a Manichean (and moronic) picture of life in black and white.

Ciao!
