The British and the Arabs permitted immigration into Palestine, but given an inch, the Zionists wanted a mile and started a campaign to force the British's hand and to subdue the land.

Len.. The Balfour Declaration made it British policy to support a Jewish homeland in Palestine. (1917).

lib.byu.edu

They obtained Arab (Hashemite) support for such a homeland in Palestine (territory including present day Jordan). (1917)

The head of the Arab delegation, Emir Feisal, great-grandfather of Abdallah, the present King of Jordan, agreed that "Palestine" would be the Jewish homeland.

And the Peel Commission investigating Arab unrest in Palestine noted that this homeland was intended to include ALL of Trans-Jordan, not just the portion west of the Jordan:

(Note: The Peel Commission did not believe that Jewish immigration was detrimental to the financial well-being of the Arab population and assumed that the issue of Jewish immigration would be resolved within the Jewish state.)

Actual Peel commission report:

And an interesting paragraph from it:

"In order to obtain Arab support in the War, the British Government promised the Sherif of Mecca in 1915 that, in the event of an Allied victory, the greater part of the Arab provinces of the Turkish Empire would become independent. The Arabs understood that Palestine would be included in the sphere of independence.

In order to obtain the support of World Jewry, the British Government in 1917 issued the Balfour Declaration. The Jews understood that, if the experiment of establishing a Jewish National Home succeeded and a sufficient number of Jews went to Palestine, the National Home might develop in course of time into a Jewish State"

Now then.....

The Hashemites, who initiated the Great Arab revolt against the Ottoman Turks, sought to gain control over Syria, Iraq and other parts of the Ottoman Empire in order to form a United Arab Kingdom.

chn-net.com

The Hashemites claim they are the legitimate heirs to the Caliphate by virtue of their descendancy from Muhammed:

chn-net.com

"The Hashemites are the direct descendants of the Prophet through his daughter Fatima and her husband Ali bin Abi Talib, who was also the Prophet's paternal first cousin and the fourth Caliph of Islam."

In 1922, the Hashemites persuade the British to sub-divide Trans-Jordan, reneging on the original Balfour declaration (which Faisal had agreed to) giving them control over everything east of the Jordan river. The Jews, not possessing sufficient political power could do nothing except make the best of what was left.

The Saudis, seeking to control the holy sites, and supported by their Wahhabi Ikhwan (muslim brotherhood) fanatical "storm troopers", succeeded in driving the Hashemite out of the holy cities of Medina and Mecca.

I, as a US taxpayer, am funding this welfare state and I am taking the issue up with my fellow Americans.

Well, you can always refuse to pay your taxes or move out of the country...

Besides, our tax dollars are also paying several billion a year to Egypt.... It's called peace by bribery... Which is infinitely better than both nations going at each other's throats again...

So get over it..

More on the Hashemite promise to support a Jewish homeland:

eretzyisroel.org

And lookie at this signature by Faisal Hussein on an agreement with Chaim Weisman

eretzyisroel.org

Feisal Hussein, King of Iraq and Syria agreed to Jewish National Home according to British Mandate (Israel and Jordan) in 1918. King of Iraq from 1921; eldest son of Hussein, sherif of Mecca. He led the Arab intifada against Turkey (1916-1918) and was designated king of Syria. Feisal was at first sympathetic to a Jewish Homeland from which he hoped to receive aid in building his future kingdom. He met Dr. Weizmann in Jordan (1918) and Paris (1919) where they reached an agreement on mutual aid, conditional on the implementation of British promises to the Arabs. Later, owing to his expulsion from Syira by the French (1920) and the influence of other Arab leaders, his attitude later became hostile...........

.........Hussein wrote in Mecca's Al Qibla, in 1918, "The resources of the country are still VIRGIN soil and will be developed by the Jewish immigrants(emphasis added). One of the most amazing things until recent times was that the Palestinian used to leave his country, wandering over the high seas in every direction. His native soil could not retain a hold on him.... At the same time, we have seen the Jews from foreign countries streaming to Palestine from Russia, Germany, Austria, Spain, and America. The cause of causes could not escape those who had a gift of deeper insight. They knew that the country was for its original sons [abna'ihi-l-asliyin], for all their differences, a sacred and beloved homeland. The return of these exiles [jaliya] to their homeland will prove materially and spiritually an experimental school for their brethren who are with them in the fields, factories, trades and all things connected to the land." 3

Now Len.. That's the former Hashemite king speaking about the Palestinians. Someone who is reflecting upon his own muslim brethren who lived in the area and how they were harnessing the land and failing to develop it.

That's an ARAB perspective... Not a Jewish one...

And to codify it, take a look at the agreeement that is enclosed on that link that Faisal and Chaim Weizmann both signed. (obviously Faisal reneged on his end of the deal):

"ARTICLE IV

All necessary measures shall be taken to encourage and stimulate immigration of Jews into Palestine on a large scale, and as quickly as possible to settle Jewish immigrants upon the land through closer settlement and intensive cultivation of the soil. In taking such measures measures the Arab peasant and tenant farmes shall be protected in their rights and shall be assisted in forwaxiiing their economic development.

******

The fact that the Jews are able to quote Faisal stating this is indicative that Palestine was not developed land being seized by a Jewish horde... And it certainly speaks lowly about their "ties to the land" that are often mistakenly assigned to Palestinians of the period.

The fact was that they were essentially doing nothing with the land and Faisal was obviously desirous of bringing people who could develop the natural resources (and bring money) to the region.

So Len... It's time for you to quit relying upon propaganda flyers for your history lessons.. Do some serious research and try to understand exactly how this mess in the middle east has come about.
