(P.STB), Singapore's third-biggest mobile operator, said a decision by regulator IDA to make operators roll out third-generation, or 3G, mobile services by end-2004 means StarHub must drop plans to test EDGE, a new technology considered a cheaper way to roll out 3G-like services than the Wideband Code Division Multiple Access, or WCDMA, standard.
