He's a fine young man. His mother and I are very proud of him. He has some moderate hearing loss due to chronic ear infections as an infant so I doubt he will serve in the military, but he has learned many of the discipline lessons the service teaches in Scouting. He loves the water. In his troop, he particularly excelled at kayaking. My own experiences in the service were quite defining also. It is most beneficial that young people in some way develop the discipline to truly become responsible adults. * * *
