I agree. I see you agree that the Taliban were de facto and de jure government of Afghanistan. This means that all who were fighting for them were POWs. End of story.

The Taliban were the de facto but absolutely NOT the de jure government of Afghanistan. We've gone over this before, but you seem to have a terribly slight memory.

Sure Zonder.. But Al-Qaida is not the Taliban. They are the Arabs, Chechens, and various other militants who are part of a terrorist organization.

As I understand it, most Taliban have been repatriated to Afghanistan or Pakistan. However, some Taliban were involved with Al-Qaida and it's likely that they are still being interrogated.

You might be reminded that most German POWs were not fully repatriated until 1946-47, and some not until 1948..

Those held under suspicion of war crimes were held until tried..
