By the way, Warren Buffet often pays a significant premium over book value when he buys companies. In Imperial Sugar's case, book value may be $13-15 as you calculate, but the value of the business may be worth a helluva lot more to a potential suitor. It's just a little wishful thinking on my part that some entity will be willing to pay in the neighborhood of $200MM ($20/share) for this co. Look at what Yahoo just paid for money-losing Inktomi.
