Scott, I have been trying to get someone to answer this. I think it challenges assumptions of anti-war contingent and no one wants to respond. My thesis is that american wont die for arabs and saddam will be on point with this once he has nukes in place to blackmail other arabs. He will take care of us by demoing his ability to poison the USA thru the use of secret agents/al quaida or other terror groups(a vial under a park bench). The French bought into this thinking with deGaulle and the israelis know better to trust their fate to some future US president so they built their nukes. The Arab states will buckle under to saddam in this scenario. And if not the US will not risk 20 million dead for the right to nuke Iraq to save what?? ---oil that wont exist. And the iraqis could always sweeten the pot for us and protect the wests access to oil. Mike
