Ericsson to provide data solution to Indonesian telecom firm

Ericsson Indonesia has agreed to supply PT Telkomunikasi Indonesia (TELKOM) with its CDMA2000 1X infrastructure solutions for 631,800 lines in Indonesia, covering the entire Jabotabek area, which includes Jakarta, Bogor, Tangerang, and Bekasi.

Ericsson's CDMA2000 solution includes infrastructure, applications, devices, services and market expertise, and is optimized for delivering advanced data solutions.

The introduction of the CDMA2000 1X is expected to enhance TELKOM's data services with speeds of up to 153kbps and enable TELKOM provide increased voice capacity. Ericsson is set to begin network deployment immediately.
