Limbaugh Offers to Clone Himself for Dems

Conservative talk radio megastar Rush Limbaugh offered to clone himself yesterday and let the Clintons raise the offspring in a bid to help Democrats in their search for successful spokesperson on talk radio.

"Maybe I should offer myself to those wackos from Clonaid," the top radio talker told his audience. "Let them clone me and then have Bill and Hillary raise the baby Rush so that by the time the kid is 20 or 21, he'll be an indoctrinated liberal and then can get his own show 21 years from now."

"Look," Limbaugh added. "I'm offering pro-bono work. Why not go all the way."

On Wednesday the New York Times reported that Democrats were desperate to counter increasingly influential voices in the alternative media, like Limbaugh and fellow radio host Sean Hannity, who together have an audience of 30 million listeners.

According to the Times report, Democratic Party insiders broached the idea of creating a liberal talk radio network a few years ago with Haim Saban, creator of the hit cartoon series "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles," who had donated millions of dollars to the Clintons and millions more to Democrats in general.

But Saban ultimately turned thumbs down on the idea, saying the chances of success for a liberal on talk radio were slim.

Notable liberal talk radio flops during the 1990's include efforts by former New York Gov. Mario Cuomo, Texas provocateur Jim Hightower and Harvard law professor Alan Dershowitz.
