Did he follow all relevant laws (student deferrals, etc.), and obey his conscience too? Then what have you got to complain about? Even Dick Cheney refused to serve... only it wasn't for reasons of conscience, according to him he was "too busy to go" (making money, of course). He wasn't even opposed to the War... just didn't want to spend his time there. There's a long list of administration big shots who never went anywhere near national service... and popular radio hosts too.
