Ray, I agree. It didn't pass the credibility test. It's obviously from the disbanded Office of Disinformation, which is operating secretly, which they of course deny. Implausibly.

I thought initially it must be from Satwire.

On the other hand, believable terror is as good as the real thing. Now, Americans waste untold man hours in queues at airports, with ridiculous security checks.

Osama is probably finding it tough to carry out a decent attack, so fear is not a bad alternative. A few calls of wolf should get the population scared and demanding retreat to America's borders.

Now that I think about it, they seem to have lifted the story straight out of one of my rants from 2001 post 911. They didn't mention opium though, which gives a good touch to the story: ironically, the war on drugs enabling the war on the USA.
