Ray - Posted myself a link describing that interview as a hoax.

Wether hoax or not, wether released by an agency searching for more budget and power or written by a psycho looking for his minute of glory, this piece falls in the line of international terrorism: destabilize the system. And it works.

Even if they don't need to originate the messages themselves.

Still tilting at windmills eh Don Quiote? Raymond if a government document is classified as secret there is no way that your internet bud, Greg Palast, would have this information, I gaurentee it. His story is a hoax and you're too narrow minded to see it:

>>This document is marked "Secret". Case ID -
199-Eye WF 213 589. 199 is FBI code for case
type. 9 would be murder. 65 would be
espionage. 199 means national security. WF
indicates Washington field office special agents
were investigating ABL - because of it's
relationship with the World Assembly of Muslim
Youth, WAMY - a suspected terrorist
organisation. ABL is Abdullah Bin Laden,
president and treasurer of WAMY. <<

He's sooo credible as to never correct a MAJOR date typo?????? Wise-up Don.

Jim

Ray - normally I don't agree with your take on the world, but I have to say that the BBC piece raises some interesting flags. I'm presently reading "Unholy Wars: Afghanistan, America and International Terrorism" by John K. Cooley (vol. 2, published before 9/11 - I'll read vol. 3 next). It is an eye-opener! Did you know the Americans had Cold War listening posts in China after the fall of the Shah in Iran? Anyways, it's pretty clear that starting with Carter and possibly before, American, Egyptian, Saudi, Pakistani and Chinese interests coincided over the increasing Soviet influence and then take-over of Afghanistan. What "deals with the devil" were done we may never know, but they continue to resonate today and to think that this has nothing to do with 9/11 is naive, to say the least.

'There is a typo in the introduction to this story. The date should read 6/11/02'

I don't think so Ray, it says 6/11/01, a/k/a 6 Nov 01, and in the body Palast says 'In the eight weeks since the attacks' ... that date was the eighth Tuesday following 11/09/01 .... hey this is the BBC, they can't screw up -g- ... see, only in civilian USA really is the form month/day/year used, most of the world including US military use the more logical day/month/year

Another USAism that can cause misunderstanding, is the use of the word 'billion' to denote 'one thousand millions' ... really it means 'one million millions', twelve zeros not nine
