thx alot for your first-rate input. USDA.gov I know just bookmarked and sugaronline.com, too. Also thx for qualifying the company's strategy. The basic problem with govt' agriculture subsidies I can echo from over here in Europe always here. The buerocrats never understand that they not only "create supply" they created lifetime commitments on the part of the growers and planters. They internalize the subsidies when making investment decisions - that wouldn't have been made in this latitude without the agri-subsidies. Once committed it's a mess. Best would be government to bail out those investments and to do some "capacity management" - as I see it'S being done now (after many years of subsidised exports) in some sort of "ordinary retreat". New demand would do wonders I guess. MAybe the Brazilian route to use ETHANOL as fuel substitute or supplement(I always liked that) coupled with some tax breaks could change the equation...
