GV, what are your general views on investing in tech companies in coming years?
IMHO after the tech bubble has burst the tech stocks have lost their luster. Current generation of investors will not forget how much money they have lost in tech. Tech business is risky and very prone to obsolescence therefore tech stocks do not deserve high P/Es. Business may well improve, but the valuations will still shrink. Money is no longer coming into tech mutual funds. Wall Street will eventually come up with something new to be bullish on, but it won't be tech. Of course some tech stocks will do fine, but not tech in general. What I said may well apply to stocks in general. Public has been selling mutual funds since July 2002. The selling was slower during rallies, and stronger during plunges.
