Apparently, there are different ways of measuring "fab utilization", which yield different numbers. I usually follow the numbers reported by the big foundries. I assume that their method of measuring utilization in their own fabs is constant over time, so I can compare their present with past numbers. But it probably is apples-and-oranges to compare those numbers to the ones put out by other companies, or SIA. And, IMO, foundry % utilization is the most sensitive indicator of the semi industry's supply/demand balance.
