I read that the White House is asking Congress to increase the debt limit to $6.4 trillion to accommodate spending not covered by tax receipts. The article didn't say what the current debt ceiling is. Senator Everett Dirksen's quip of "a million here, a million there, and pretty soon you're talking real money" is going to have to be updated.
