What he was doing was trying to set the rules for how the Catholic Church should handle its internal affairs.

Seems to me that airing how prominent cultural institutions play fast and loose with rules is a noble endeavor.

What he was suggesting is that the church is inconsistent. I think anyone can "rightly" have an opinion about that. Of course that is just my opinion. Just as your opinion on the rightness of things is just yours. I won't try to figure out who is the rightest one of all. I'll leave that for people who think they know things like that. I certainly don't. I know we have a legal right to our opinions, and I think it is always right to utilize those rights, because speech is better aired, imo.
