Actually Father Terrance is quiet correct on the chapters of Leviticus in the Old "Bible"...it is quite a feast of blood. ...it is all to do with animal slaughter , Moses' burning of cow's, goats and sheep's kidneys upon the altars of blood , and primitive pagan superstitions that can hardly be matched anywhere on the earth of even the most primitive tribes of men . They were just completely swimming in blood. Also goes on to state that certain animals may not be eaten , but locusts and beetles are on the menu . Also goes on and on about the women being unclean after giving birth and needs be seperated from the congregation and may touch no person ...unless has brought some animal for the priests to wring their necks and sacrifice , and paint the altars with bloody messes for some demented "God" of War. I think they managed to sacrifice 10,000 goats , cows and sheep in one day . Very bloody religion , full of slaughter. Christianity substituted pagans for animals later on, after the briefest persecution of themselves. Apparently you haven't read your "Bible" either ? ahem... ;-)

Also , just an afterthought about the holy "Temple" in Jerusalem...that's what they did there --->slaughter animals , right up into Jesus' day . It was a Temple of slaughter, and this is just what the rituals to this "Jehova" fellow were . Sorry to have to be the one to burst the bubble . On the outskirts of town (Jerusalem ) there was a garbage dump which had a name synonomous with "Hell" . That is also the place where they pushed the bodies over into after they had been stoned to death. So you see 2000yrs ago , this "Temple" in Jerusalem was an animal slaughterhouse , though one could be kind and call them rituals of purification. And then you see it is no coincidence that Jesus is often refered later on as a sacrifice too , as you will recall the "Lamb of God" title , and he being the lamb on the menu of the sacrifice. The priests got fat on fees for the sacrifices , never starved much , and it was business as usual until the Romans made a short end of it all in 70Ad. ...and then the Christians took over with another 2000yrs of persecution , they were pretty intolerant as a mob-rule themselves .
