That was an amazing adventure. I throughly enjoyed the experience of the box, regardless of the play on the field. It was very nice to be at Lambeau without being all bundled up and having cold toes and backside. It was also very nice to be able to stand up walk 20 feet and get something to eat or drink without standing in line, opening the wallet or missing a bunch of the game. Overall, I could get used to it, but alas, next season I will be rejoining the common fan in the cold.

That being said, however, it was weird as they introduced the players to not be up and jumping around with 60,000 of your closest friends while a huge roar was going on around you. As the game wore on, it did not seem so weird. That might have had more to do with the showing than getting used to the surroundings, however.

I read an article in the paper today that Madden stated that Favre only felt comfortable with Green as a receiver. The article indicted that if Madden said that, he got it from someone in the Packers organization. That is a very interesting and telling statement, if it did indeed originate from within the organization somewhere...

Well, coach and GM Sherman has his work cut out for him. There are a lot of question marks and things that need to be fixed. Kicking a 47 yard field goal in last night's conditions, and then going for it on 4th and goal instead of kicking the field goal are a couple of decisions that just seemed messed up to me. The feeling in our booth was when he decided to go for it on 4th and goal was that that one play was the game. They make the touchdown and perhaps they are pumped up to have a shot at the game. They don't punch it in and you might as well just forfiet the game at that point. I think it was a mistake. Three points and lots of time left seemed to me to be best course, but then I don't make the big bucks.

Well, good luck to your Eagles against Vick. He sure is fun to watch.

A couple other thoughts come to mind. One hit me on the way out of the stadium last night....with time left on the clock which alone is an unusual experience for a trip to Lambeau.

The first, after the loss to the Rams in last season's playoffs Brett said something to the effect if you are around long enough you experience everything. The indication was that it kinda no big deal and that it happens. Thinking back on that, there should have probably been more fire there. He should have been pissed off, instead of presenting it as a, "well, shit happens" type of thing.

Second, aren't the Packers a WCO team? The offense I have been watching sure doesn't seem to me to be a WCO type of thing. Not real sure what it is, but there doesn't seem to be much ball control move the chains type of thing. There were a lot of long balls tossed to covered receivers. What is up with that? Can't any of our guys get open? Where is the separation? I wondered last night if perhaps the play calling duties should be turned over to Favre on the field. I doubt that would ever happen, but it sure would be interesting. Heck, he probably knows more about the offense the Packers should run than anyone else in Lambeau...including Sherman.
