And to the blond screamer's face, Chris Matthew's question to His Royal Highness, al 'something or another', Saud ambassador to the USA: "Your Highness, is it true that the second biggest export from your country after oil is Islamic fundamentalism?" The answer ( I heard it with my own ears last year) "Absolutely" I hold to my unpopular and possibly mistaken opinion, that Saud Arabia as a state poses a greater danger to the US than the camel boy. Why not go after Saud's instead? I suppose the Bush family and its associates have too many entrenched oil interests there. Hell, I don't know the web of connections. I am not on the inside. I just know that as a nation and as a group of "voters" allegedly responsible for our leadership we are a bunch of simpering fools. And no, Gore would have been no better in my view. Probably worse. I think it is fair to say that discussions such as these take away from the value of this thread and diminish the aid it may give us all in deciding what to do and when. But I do think it is impossible to separate these ingredients in the cauldron of current events from the decison making process. Okay. Time out. I will be quiet for awhile unless something comes up that might elicit a pertinent response from my medical background...except the ever appropriate observation from my perspective as to biotechs, caveat emptor...who is going to pay for them? Not Medicaid, not Medicare, and probably not my Blue Shield carrier. Medicine is becoming by the day less affordable even for those of us who are supposed to able to afford them...and there is NO inflation. Everyone I know who has insurance in the private sector had increases in health care insurance from 7-15%last year, more this year. Mine at 60 was 15%this year, 8% last. Good morrow everyone, and here is to watching the yellow relic go to 400. jim black
