and the kids told me If I wanted the room clean, to clean it myself......yikes! That sort of response wouldn't do well with Daddy..as in someone would be in deep shit.Whenever I get any attitude from one of mine as a response to a request to clean I try to encourage them...part of a team, etc..but if they persist in their "attitude" they get an additional chore just to help them feel better about themselves<g>

it is a constant battle...every minute it seems. I have noticed that when Mom leaves town I have less trouble getting them to do their part. When left alone with dad they know there's no place to hide and no one to plead their case to..so might as well just do it. Kids will spend 30 minutes being defiant when the job was only a 5 min gig

In a sense I am a mother..at least an equal when it comes to time and effort spent with them..I spend lots and lots of time doing the routine junk with my kids. Unfortunately she and I don't always agree on discipline..rarely in fact.

my 11 yr old daughter is going to get the riot act read to her this afternoon right after she returns from church. I'm going to point out that Hollywood isn't calling yet so she's going to have to participate until which time that she is made a princess for real<g>
