tfrugal--I think there could be some scenarios where the U.S. would use a first nuclear strike. Waging wars on three continents could be one reason. What worries me is fronts in each of those areas are opening up.

I'm in a hurry right now and can't get into a deep discussion on this right now. I'd enjoy hearing what others think on this subject.

When your posted article combines the two so that they can claim that we are going to nuke countries in preemptive strikes, that is flat out wrong.

Are you saying that the policies are a bunch of disconnected ideas? Otherwise they only make sense in combination. This administration repeats endlessly that all strategic decisions are centralized in the person of the president.
