Hi hueyone, this author makes the same mistake I've seen time and again of taking the dynamics of one sector, in this case technology, and extrapolating that to the entire economy. I too believe that tech spending is not likely to rebound significantly for another year to two years. I also believe that tech will not lead the recovery in either the economy or the stock market. However, the broader economy is already recovering and the broader stock market is poised for decent growth in 2003.
