Sorry, Enron had a good relationship with the Clinton Administration. Enron Execs went on many trips (which I'm sure they paid for) with Sec O'leary and Brown. This relationship (betweeen the Clinton Administration and Enron), is why IMO very little was heard about the electric energy crisis till after the 2000 election. The electric energy crisis was cooking the entire summer and fall of 2000. Enron could have been a campaign issue in the 2000 election (in July/August 2000, CA's Gov even complained to President Clinton about manipulation by "out of State producers"), but wasn't.
