One of the things I find so attractive about Greenwich, other than it being very easy to get to from NYC via Metro North, is the variation of its topography. It goes from the beach area, to a bustling town (great restaurants!), to the whole back country area, which is quite beautiful.

And you're right about the diversity factor there. It's less WASPy than New Canaan and lots of other towns in Fairfield county.

Do you spend the majority of your time there now? I see your profile says NYC and Greenwich.

I'd asked about the fallout from 9-11 because of Greenwich's ties to the financial sector. Even in the part of CT where I now live, which is farthest away from NYC, we lost friends and neighbors in the planes and towers that day.

Oddly, real estate here has been strong since 9-11, and we're told it's an exodus of NYC folks looking for a quieter life, but not so far from NYC and Boston that they couldn't get there by train.
