I don't have any problems with dropped calls static or circuits fall on Sprint.

I also am pretty sceptical about CR's report (based on my experience with their handset reviews) but since I haven't seen it I can only speak about my own experience.

I don't know how CR did their survey, but from my personal experience PCS has worked very well. I do encounter spots where the signal fades, but they are rare. Also, since I upgraded to the Sanyo 4900 I am even more satisfied with the signal and call quality.

My home base is Berkeley, CA and I drive all of the Bay Area. I also travel to NYC and to the Ft Lauderdale, FL area. Never had any problems in NYC and only ones in Ft L. were in some spots inside the apartment I stay in. I'm betting those problems will be gone with my 1X phone.

Also, I disabled my analog option
