Because we might argue over the precise definition of these words, it doesn't mean we should remove them from our vernacular.

Its not the definitions that bother me, its the dumbing down of the debate.

We used to have conservative Dems, liberal GOPers, conservative GOPers, liberal Dems, moderates of all stripes, fiscal conservatives/social liberals, et al...

Now we just have "Conservatives" and "Liberals". The terms may be convenient but they encourage sloppy, confrontational thinking.
