i feel like dividends pretty much amount to a "bribe" to get investors to buy and hold their stock...

i'm not sure what we got in dividends last year probably under 5000... and every single dividend pay out we have received stays right in the account..

they are retirement accounts after all..

if they want to encourage investors to put more money into the market fix capital gains/loss tax treatment as you mentioned..
