the machines that make the flat panel chips are not mature... I think they are in one of those tornado growth curves that occurs from the combination of strong end-user demand and underlying technology changes (in both the design process and the equipment that applied sells for the process). Apparently the equipment necessary for the smallest flat panel devices now is prohibitively large. So theres pent up demand waiting for that product to mature. This is the AKT division of applied, if anybody knows it. Morgan is targeting one billion in sales for this division, don't know the timeframe though.

Sorry if my terminology is off, I am just reiterating what friends have told me.
