Thanks for the feedback on the madness of King George. That line seems to really resonate with a lot of folks. And it's not just part of our collective upbringing here in the U.S. where we learned early on that our Founding Fathers were battling the mad monster of Merry Old England, King George III.

The line actually plays quite well with some of my continental correspondents who are much more inclined to see the American leadership as some kind of sickness, a malevolent madness with arrogant men drunk with power dreaming of perpetual conquest and untold riches for themselves and their cronies. A leadership that has utterly lost its moral compass and, like the Enron crew who helped install them in the White House are totally unethical, conniving, unscrupulous and dangerous to civilization.

Frankly, I've found Matt Drudge and Rusty Limbaugh to be effective if disingenuous demagogues. Why not emulate what works? To me bombast is preferable to mealy mouthed moderation any day of the week. What use have I of milquetoast musings, sir?

You know the other riff that really gets remembered is "feral zombie". As in Arthur Andersen was a feral zombie auditing fraud enabling Enron, a feral zombie political bribe machine that created George Bush and the Bushista Junta is feral zombie imperialism at its most benighted. See? It can be applied in any number of situations where scoundrels are in control.

Cheerio!

tfrugal, perhaps reading this will make you feel better--lol!

It's not heavy political, as one might expect from thenation.com. Rather, it's a story about a man who blanked out of the world and reawakened to find it completely different.

You claim that you put posters like PROLIFE, jallen and rollcast on ignore.

heheheheh You didn't actually believe that did you....???

Suffice it to say when I realized how Raybo, the Naked King, and the rest of the hate America crowd were posting non-stop crackpot conspiracy theories and complete horse dung....I switched to the insult only mode as far as their posts go.

The fact is this nation was attacked. 3,000 innocents were slaughtered while going about their daily business and drastic changes need to be made to make sure it does not happen again. Claiming the war on terror is not a real war....the inability to grasp the effect that Clinton era drawdowns on our military have in limiting our response to the new threat NK poses, the massive reorganization required to effect changes which will better protect us...etc., these points are lost on partisan pinheads who are motivated by nothing other than the fact that Gore lost the last election. They harp negative 24 hours a day without ever once proffering meaningful solutions and alternatives, constantly spamming craockpot conspiracy theories, lies and other nonsense. Their posts are a waste of bandwidth. Insult and ridicule are all they deserve, IMO.
