Zonder, I think you need to take a breather from the Geneva Convention stuff. We all know that you believe these Conventions apply to the thugs involved in 911 who took refuge in Afganistan. Others believe that the convention does not apply. We will not be able to convince you of the errors of your ways and neither will you be able to convince us of the correctness of your position. It is best to find other area's. This will not change. Whether right or wrong, the US and the US alone can decide how it will handle these scumbags. If you believe the US policy is in violation of some international set of rules, I suggest your beef really is with the world court and the International Agencies in the Hague whom you believe have juristiction in this matter. Perhaps you ought to lobby to have the world body hold us either in contempt of international statutes or as war criminals if we are failing to live up to the Geneva Conventions. Good luck. I'm sure you'll receive plenty of notice for these efforts in the New York Times!

That is up to the the lawyers, isn't it zonder. Plus, there isn't a group that hasn't passed these facilities...all to my knowledge have done so... The people killed and injured on 9-11, and their families should be as well cared for as the guilty creeps being held. BTW...have you read much about the death camps of Germany in WW11, or of the Battan Death March and how these prisioners were treated? Cripes.....the detainees in Gitmo even are provided mats on which to pray.
