John, the Blitzer transcripts still aren't up....it will be interesting to see that one and see what they said... And yes, I would be surprised too if Scowcroft agreed with any such 'formulation'.... Perhaps the anger at the US has escalated since 9-11...but one has to wonder a couple of things: 1) exactly what countries is that so called anger coming from, and 2) what has the US done for them lately? and 3) what is the percentage of population is Muslim in the countries that seem to be complaining the loudest? Of that percentage, what percentage is "Radical Islam"? Maybe we could consider each one of these possibilities.... cnn.com cnn.com
