I still have not received an answer to my original question, which I'll rephrase: Did the 'Ten people pay for lunch' analogy combine individual tax payments with those of corporations?

Yes, you did receive an answer, you just don't like the answer. It's not relevant to the message. The message is tax cuts for everybody. My original post was posted because as soon as Bush releases his economic plan, we are going to hear the same old tired mantra from the left, tax cuts for the rich.

My "guess" would be it only represents individuals. It is just a story to show where the brunt of the burden falls. I don't believe that is in dispute.

There is corporate taxation and then there is taxation for individuals; do not confuse the two. I am far more inclined to support tax cuts for individuals than those for corporations.

I am not confusing anything. You are throwing this question out there that is not relevant to the message. It is not even relevant about what level of taxes corporations pay, because WE end up paying in the end for the good and services they produce. If you want to raise their taxes, they simply raise the costs of what they sell.

Regards,

BobP

ShilohCat,

Corporations do not pay taxes, they merely collect them from their customers. Corporate taxes are merely disguised sales taxes. To believe otherwise is to betray the fact that you are economically ignorant or worse.
