That was not a post from someone who works with tech in China. It is true that China is mainly a follower in technology and that ripping off technology and leveraging labor costs have been key elements in China. But you are only seeing part of the picture and you are reinforcing blindness to the other aspects. The guy you linked to posted another article on Nokia right after that -- emphasizing how Nokia, with labor costs 30 times higher than China, can compete globally while manufacturing in Finland. Ask yourself this question Liz -- who buys those phones? If you don't think China is the most important market in the world for handsets, then you have not been paying attention. China is more than rice farmers and cheap labor. It is a huge and robust market with skilled labor and rapidly improving infrastructure.
