Why? He uses JLA as entertainment in the same way JLA uses him. It's some sort of game, which they play in public. I'm not sure it raises any questions, except about the sanity of the people behind the posts- and it probably doesn't even raise that. I'm sure people who are quite rational in 3d are totally bizarre here- or at least I hope that is the case. JLA and CH probably check each others profiles and follow each other around. If you've got the time, and need some excitement in your life, you might follow around a character on SI and bitch about them. Doesn't have anything to do with reality, imo, except the reality people manufacture in their heads- if we're talking about that, then everything is real. And I grant you, you can go there if you want. Of course my reality about the reality of SI is just as good as your reality if we go down that path.

it has appeared in the past that he has held a
position that everything here was meaningless in terms of "really" people.

Not exactly.

it is that everyone here posts only some combination of a) carefully selected aspects of themselves, and b) a created persona which may or may not have any recognizable connection with who they are in 3D life. A man may pretend to be a woman and vice versa, a postal clerk may claim to be a college professor, a truck driver may pose as a psychiatrist.

This is less the case for people who post under their real names as it is for people who use aliases.

It is perfectly true that on the internet, nobody knows if you're a dog.
