Hi Mephisto,

While I agree with your spirit and general conclusion, I'd like to point out that what is being built is not as you describe.

The gas pipeline that has just been negotiated will take natural gas from the Daulutebad field in South East Turkmenistan and transport this gas to the hub at Multan, Pakistan.

There is no oil pipeline in development at present. Though there is quite a bit of planning in a general sense going on.

Afghanistan itself has some commercially exploitable reserves of oil and gas, but they are pygmy fields in comparison to those farther north in the Caspian region. It's unlikely that development of Afghanistan's petroleum reserves will be occur any time soon.
