No one is in position to keep the federal government from raising all the money they want. The upper end of the budget has no fixture.

Why then, oh why, do so many citizens waste their precious time finger-pointing at the opposite party or ideology as the reason for the federal government's ever-increasing bloat?

It is obvious to anyone paying attention that both "parties" are equally culpable.

And the Bush Homeland Defense $37b is obfuscatory excess, on top of bloated and dysfunctional bureacracy. We'll be no more safer, with lots less accountability. I especially love the concealment and withholding of ever-greater of the people's information, that goes along with picking our pockets.

This lack of job creating policies and hollowing out of the economy means we're headed for another 1929-style debacle, only more slowly and painfully, with fewer personal freedoms and greater gov't control of all aspects of life. That's not even including the Bush-sponsored terrorism policies bloating gov't and accelerating worldwide conflict.

No, no...everything will be fine once we get Iraq properly invaded. <g>
