The end of the Roman Empire, the closest analog to the post Cold War American attempt at hegenemy, was brought about by petty revolts of those who were formally allies or subordinates. Once the Roman Republic was replaced by an arrogant Emperor, the rest of the world lost respect, and one by one those challenged lost fear of the former single ruler of the world. After 2000 years the results are that the former lords of the world still a minor player. It is not power that leads the world but vision, and vision is someting that Junior's team lacks. TP
