Income tax is not only a drag on the economy.

Imagine that USD800.000 missile fired into a mountain in Afghanistan that turns to smoke in an split second: That is your tax money.

Imagine those acres of land not planted and the farmer is paid to keep it that way. That is your tax dollar.

See that guy comfortably unemployed? His lunch is your tax payer dollar. Had his unemployment become uncomfortable enough, he would be working.

See those USD1 billion paid in agriculture subsidy at both sides of the Atlantic everyday? Yes, those are income tax being burned.

Hard as it is to admit, I liked the GST idea when Brian brought it in. Just that we all knew they wouldn't do away with income tax :o(

zero rated basic foodstuffs, basic clothing etc... higher rated yachts .... works for me....
