SWG-t...in the news: Kaiser likes Southwestern, but partial sell may be wise Thu 9 Jan 2003 In the News John Kaiser, writing in a Jan. 8 Express, says that the Boka project in China may have the potential to make Southwestern Resources (then $11.90) worth $50 to $100. Mr. Kaiser recommended the stock in December, 1999, at $4.50; he revisited the company last month after its initial success at Boka, in Yunnan province. The letter writer says that with its current value of $254-million prior to drill hole assays, he is tempted to advise those who bought in the $2.50-$7 range sell 25 per cent to hedge against the possibility that the rock between the structures cross-cutting the stratigraphic package grades well below three grams per tonne. The latest tunnel results leave the optimistic scenario open while reminding the market that perfect fences of Busang-style intersections are not in the cards. Because he sees big potential for Southwestern's Boka project to become the flagship discovery that inspires speculators in the coming bull cycle, I will not consider partial sells until after I have seen the first couple drill hole assays. "I was expecting $10-15 as a response to drill assays, so it is tempting to take money off the table," he writes.
