Perhaps you should be looking into photo printers instead of film cameras. Which Sony digicam and what printer are you using, and what sizes are you trying to print?

I just need good quality kids' pictures for their grandpa and grandma.

If I can print good quality on paper, I might not need to buy conventional camera. I'll might just upgrade to better digital camera.

In your shoes I'd get a 3 or 4 megapixel digicam instead of the film SLR. Outstanding printers (Epson, Canon, etc.) are dirt cheap these days. Visit a computer store and compare the output -- seeing is believing, I think you'll be convinced.
