We were not at war during the CLinton era. What's wrong with that? After 9-11 we needed more military spending and boy are we getting it. Now that Bush has recklessly woken up North Korea (a power we have no military leverage against) we might be in trouble. Just hope NK doesn't make a military move because if they do we're F'ed. All because of Bush's Axis Of Evil talk versus NK. When he should have let sleeping dogs lie. You dont talk big unless you have a big stick.

Jim,

I'm sure you have good reasons not to post here very often...all of us are busy...but, please do not let these posters keep you from your timely thoughts and comments regarding Gold, Silver, economies, etc...I wish the politics would go to another (appropriate) thread....

With regard to the economy...we all agree most if not all people are naive...they gauge the economy by the stock market...and most appear to be very bullish...do you see a full-court press by the Fed and the Administration to bolster the markets..?? and your thoughts on the repercussions...??

Jim,

Re: but Clinton slashed budgets by over 30%

What a mischaracterization. You really need to get a grip. In the face of the collapse of the phony justification for our vastly overblown Department of Death budgets (i.e. the Soviet Union died) what would a rational government do?

The same thing that the U.S. government did after the end of every war before WW II. It cut military spending to be in line with the actual threat.

To chastize Clinton for rational behavior is very unbecoming on your part. You really need to re-think your hysteria and paranoia a bit.

Re: the Camp Lejeune guy is an American
I doubt he is either Democrat or Republican

You're no judge of character. This turkey is clearly a selfish, pig-headed, deceitful Repuglican. His only interest is filling his own pockets with filthy lucre secured from a duped American public. His threat analysis is risible.
