I'd suggest he wait until he can find an A40. Imo the 2500 is Nikon's version of a Kodak cardboard disposable. To cut costs, it doesn't even have a viewfinder. I wonder how they expect you to compose on a bright day when you can't see the LCD? Cute as hell, but read the owner's opinions:

Condor, I am surprised the Canon A40 is out of stock.

Personally, I never liked the Nikon swivel design.
I think the CP 2500 is relatively cheaply built with a
lot of plastic parts. It is not a Nikon masterpiece.
