Maybe Uncle Sam could hire you to file bankruptcy for them, and then start with a clean slate.

$10 Trillion -- considering the necessity for $800b this year and next to offset the downward spiral of job-destruction, it will be impossible to avoid, even with uptick from unknown sources.

It's now $6.4 trillion, 2 years at $800b and (hopefully a decline) to $500b, $400b, $300b, $200b and $200b.

If the Democrats win in '04, then it's still $8 Trillion, but declining rapidly by '08 through '12.

The big question is -- what does this do to interest rates?
