Tell that to the Palestinian who has been run off his/her property and/or had his economy usurped by a Western-backed colony. Oh settle down Len.. Pull your nose back from the chalkboard and look at the centuries of accumulated writing to be found upon it... If I really tried, I probably could name for you over 500 tribes/nationalities who face very similar condition as the Palestinians.. People who have their own distinct language, own distinctive heritage and culture, and their own religion.. None is which are qualities possessed by those who call themselves Palestinians... Yet you don't shed even a single tear for any of these other oppressed people... And they have far more standing as a national entity than the Palestinians can claim... Personally, I could care less about a Palestinian state, especially if it winds up being just another totalitarian/authoritarian militarist nation forever seeking conflict with its neighbors. Let the moderates in Palestine present themselves. Let them oust Arafat and adopt the ways of Ghandi.. Peaceful resistance.. Then I might feel they were worthy of being considered for an independent state... Other than that.. if they want to wage "independence" with the sword, they can perish by that sword as well.. Either that, or they had better kick the Israeli's butts... Hawk
