time decay could be some of it. Volatility decline another bit.

Should not affect deep ITM stuff.

I have a very good clue having learned my lesson over and over again...The only one who makes money on options consistently is the fellow who sells covered...and the market maker(aka: bookie)...two points is a heck of a spread for something that matures in a few months.

Darned if I didn't get another of those palindrome grubs today.
